The long absence

Don’t worry guys. I haven’t ditched you, become soft or been taken in by ‘dirty’ Driti.

I have been on a temporary hiatus as I was on holiday. Friends and family are always important so I jumped on an jet and headed out of the islands. During times like these, its these people who make it worth it.

I was planning to leave a message of temporary departure but among all the final things I had to do before leaving, I forgot. I hope you can forgive me.

Never mind. This site will be broadcasting little bites of news from Fiji. The one that I have posted below does not even bloggers to write about it. Just read it in the Fiji Times and you’re there.

Outed - shame on him!

As I wake up this morning, I am reading the Fiji Times.

Many Fijians have been waiting for this snippet of news for time in memoriam. We finally have it.

The Fiji Times have the tenacity of all the major press to present the evidence that shows that our ‘friendly neighbourhood snake’, Mahendra Pal Chaudhry has not been paying his tax. And its not a little bit. Its a lot.

Plenty of undeclared income, overseas bank accounts, lack of accountability and the rest. Not to mention those who were investigating his ’slimy ass’ were fired and the case never solved.

The man who has control over our nation’s finances is the one who complains when no one else pays their tax. He complains about the SDL not showing fiscal responsibility. He parrots endlessly about people who have not paid their tax for this financial year.

Pot, kettle, black. End of story.
